birth doula

As your doula, my ultimate goal is to empower your family through information, education and care so you can make the best possible choices for your birth and leave your experience feeling emotionally satisfied. Below are the specific services I will provide throughout your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Additional trainings I have completed are trauma informed care, Operating Room (OR) procedures and etiquette for Cesarean birth, a Spinning Babies workshop, a postpartum doula course, and Keeping Your Power - Advocacy in Action.

  • during pregnancy

Unlimited communication throughout your pregnancy through email, phone, and text to answer questions, reassure you, and help you find the resources you need.

Three prenatal visits with you in the comfort of your home to discuss the vision for your birth, process fears, create a birth plan, and prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for labor.

Provide 24/7 on call availability from 37 weeks until the baby is born to support you and help you determine if labor has begun.

  • during labor

Advocate for and uphold your wants and needs in labor.

Aid with relaxation and breathing techniques such as massage, counter-pressure, visualization, soothing hot packs and cold towels, effective positioning, meaningful verbal affirmation, and supportive advocacy through your entire experience.

Guide your partner in the best ways to support you, give them breaks for rest, and work as a team.

    Take photos if requested.

  • after the birth

Stay with you and your partner for up to two hours to provide feeding counseling (if desired) and make sure you feel settled and safe.

Follow up with you to schedule a total of 3 postpartum hours during which I will check in on you and your partner, help you process your birth experience, give feedback, answer any potential breastfeeding questions you have, do a light chore for you, and enjoy your little one’s new presence on this earth!

Text availability until you are 6 weeks postpartum.

  • Brittan's Testimony

Sarah was just the supportive and beautiful soul I needed to help me through my pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. After a traumatic first birth, I knew my husband and I would both benefit from a doula to help us as I birthed my second baby. Sarah listened to me and gave me emotional support through some rough patches of my pregnancy. She helped me have the healing birth I hoped for and advocated for me every step of the way. I’m so thankful for my birth experience and for the team that was Sarah and my husband. I would always recommend Sarah and doula care to anyone!

total investment: $2,000

I completely understand that doula services can seem out of financial reach sometimes. If this applies to you, PLEASE reach out so we can talk about a sliding scale together. Every birth deserves the presence of a doula, and I would love to work something out with you.
